ARTISTS BIO

Monica grew up in the Santa Ynez Valley. She received her BFA from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 1999, it was there that she fell in love with oil painting and in particular plein air landscapes. She went on to earn her Master’s degree in Education from UCSB in 2003, and is currently living and teaching art in Encinitas, CA. She often returns home to spend time with her family and while doing so enjoys painting the familiar landscapes of the Central Coast. She hopes to express her love for nature and the beauty of color through her paintings. Monica is a member of the Rancho Santa Fe Art Guild. To see more of her paintings click here.
